Canids of Louisiana Presentation
Amy Shutt will be giving a presentation on the canids of Louisiana, both historic and current, on January 22 6:30pm in Baton Rouge, LA, through a partnership with the Capital Area Native Plant Society (CANPS) and the Louisiana Master Naturalist of Greater Baton Rouge (LMNGBR).

For members of Hilltop, CANPS and LMNGBR the fee is $5 per program, $10 for non-members, pay at the door.
Ancestry Genetics of North American Canids
The Canine Ancestry Project is a collaborative project led by Dr. Bridgett vonHoldt of Princeton University. It is represented by multiple institutions and experts in canine biology, ecology, and genetics. The Canid Project is proud to be a contributor and act as the local coordinator for Louisiana of this project.

Call For Entries!
The Canid Project is working on Issue 1 of its new periodical: Notes From The Field. We are looking for stories and photo essays that are focused on wild canids. They can cover wild canids' current issues, conservation, rehabilitation, medical care, research, or personal stories of the human-canid relationship.
Those chosen to be in the first publication will be compensated by receiving a complimentary copy of the periodical and a choice of The Canid Project cap or T-shirt.
Published pieces will appear in the periodical as well as in any online entities.

Join Us for a urban red fox photo workshop in may 2018!
Our aim with The Canid Project workshops is to provide experiences that will not just focus on taking great photographs, but also on how you can use your photography for conservation and education. We also focus strongly on the ethics of wildlife photography.
We are looking for an intern!
June 15, 2017: We are looking for an intern for at least 2 to 3 months. Applicant should be available 2 to 3 days a week. Hours are flexible. This is a fledgling non-profit with several facets in development. Duties include, but are not limited to, daily operations like emailing, setting up appointments, back end website work, social media, research, filing documents etc. Applicant should be comfortable behind a computer. Our Fox Rescue
As of May 2017 we have received our state-permit to rescue, rehabilitate, and release native foxes in Louisiana! We have five fox kits currently in our care.
An Evening With The Canid Project
Join us on August 2, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm at the EBR Main Branch Library on Goodwood Blvd in Baton Rouge for an evening introducing this new organization based in Baton Rouge, with work extending across a handful of countries.
